The tanning process
The process starts as hides are received from slaughterhouses or refrigerators. Due to their perishable nature, production must begin as soon as possible.
The process is as follows:
- Unhairing: Hair is extracted from the hide.
- Degreasing: Eliminating the remaining meat and grease.
- Tanning: Change the composition of the hide with titanium, a chemical compound that prevents decomposition.
